The dream of every human is to have shiny, thick, and healthy hair. However, pollution and the use of styling tools shattered these dreams and only leaving us with damaged hair.

There is no magic to get healthy hair overnight, though there are a few things that help you achieve your hair goals. I don't believe in putting too much chemical in hair, so I kept it simple.

Let's be honest, who has time to take care of hair every day but these tips are for long-term hair treatment. Just do it once or twice a week and you are good to go. These tips work for all hair types.

Simple hair care tips:

  1. Scalp Care - The first step for healthy hair is taking care of the scalp. Oil your scalp twice a week, leave the oil in hair for 2 hours at least. Oiling is like watering a plant. The scalp needs an excellent fertilizer i.e. oil and it will strengthen the roots of your hair and it also helps in the growth of hair. Scalp Massage stimulates blood circulation to the follicle at the bottom of the hair and thus helps bring nutrients to the hair roots to promote hair growth. Hair Brushing deep cleanse your hair, reduce frizz and help natural oil to reach the ends of your hair. The best thing would be to use a wooden hairbrush /comb. 3. Wash Your Hair Once a Week- Excessive shampooing can dry out your hair and if you blow-dry every time, you wash your hair i.e. the more washing = the more damage. The natural oil in your scalp is good for the hair.

  4. Sulfate-free Shampoo- I wish I knew about this earlier. It has been 7 to 8 months since I started using sulfate-free shampoo and I saw a massive change in my hair. It can be used for both natural and colored hair. It preserves natural oils, reduces frizziness in your hair, keeps your hair hydrated, and prevents hair color from fading. 5. Wash Your Hair with Lukewarm Water- Cold water does not clean all the dirt in your hair Hot water can dehydrate the scalp and strip out all the natural oil which can lead to damage and frizzy hair. So go for lukewarm water. It will clean your hair properly and does not damage your hair, and after a good head wash rinse your hair with cold water, it will make your hair look shiny.

  6. Deep conditioning - Conditioning cannot provide all the care your hair wants. The regular condition only softens your hair and gives it little shine however deep condition is a step further: it nourishes and hydrates your hair. It typically is a protein-based thick paste, apply it on clean hair and leave it for 30-45 minutes and rinse with cold water. Do it once a week or once in two weeks. You can buy either from the market or try a home remedy. If you cannot afford a deep conditioner, try a home remedy or just leave a normal conditioner in your for 10-15 minutes. 7. Heat Protection and Less Heat- Nothing damages your hair more than heat. Try to air-dry your hair whenever you have time. If you use a blow-dryer, use it on medium. Don't use blow-dry directly at a 90 degrees angle on your hairline. It is a good way to lose some hair. If you are in a hurry or wanting to style your hair, don't forget to use Heat protection in your hair. It seals the moisture in it and will prevent your hair to get damage.

  8. Say NO to Tight Ties- Tight tie puts your roots under pressure and it causes breaking and damaging your hair. The same hairstyle for years could lead to hair loss. Tie your hair in office/school hours and free them when you come back home. Use scrunchies instead of rubber bands or clip them.

  9. Tuck Ends- We often forgot to take care of our hair ends and we wind-up with split ends, damaged and dehydrated ends. To get rid of those stupid dry ends, tuck them, put some oil in them before sleep, and braid your hair till you reach the end of your hair, then fold the braid from the end and tie it. Do it once or twice a week. You will see the results instantly.

  10. Trimming- There is absolute 1000's of reasons to trim your hair. Don't be afraid of trimming, it only means cutting dead hair, and they made your hair look thin and dull. Trimming hair will automatically make your hair look healthy and thick. It helps promotes healthy growth. Chop that dull ends off!

  11. Silk Pillowcase- Silk is not only good for your hair, but it is also good for the skin. Friction from tossing and turning causes creases in the skin which leads to wrinkles, and frizz, hair breakage in your hair causing split ends. Silk pillowcase helps your hair and skin to keep their moisture and it gives your hair a beautiful luxurious shine and you wake up with smoother hair. (BUY IT HERE) (BUY IT HERE)

  12. Switch Your Hair Part- If you haven't changed your hair part. Change it NOW! It's prime time. The same part is the big reason you are losing your hair and thinning of hair in that area. Switching hair part prevents hair from breakage because that old hair part exposed to the sun, which damages your hair and fades your hair. By not allowing the hair to fall in the same position every day, your roots are upright and breathing. The best way to change your hair part is while they are damp, change it to the new side and put a bobby pin on it. Leave it for 5-10 minutes or till dry and In the end, if the new hair part still won't set to that side blow dry your hair toward the new side while the pin is still on and then remove pin and continue blow drying that side of hair from roots to ends.
